You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.

ABOUT ROOT TO RISE COLLECTIVE

A mindful brand communications studio for social impact, Root to Rise Collective is rooted in the yogic philosophy “root to rise.” Weaving together contemplative practice with strategic storytelling, I partner with mission-driven organizations to build compelling brands from the ground up. Together we elevate women and girls for our collective rising.

ABOUT RACHEL BELLINGER

A strategic thinker by nature, I blend an entrepreneurial spirit with a mission-driven heart to tell stories that matter for grassroots startups and global nonprofits. I’m a strategist and storyteller amplifying the visions of women and girls. Guided by decades of contemplative practice and ten years in the social impact sector, my work blends mindfulness, compassion and human-centered communications.

As a yoga teacher and a mother—you’ll find me writing, teaching, and wandering in the wild on Whidbey Island in the Pacific Northwest.

A Bit More

I’ve been invested in and inspired by the profound potential of women and girls creating outsized social change since I was in college. I am amazed by the brilliance of girls and the profound ripple effect of investing in adolescent girls to change the trajectory of their life and in turn their families futures and communities. I am in awe of the tenacity of women and mothers working together to make the world more beautiful and just.

With a background in business and social entrepreneurship and experience in strategic partnerships, marketing and communications, my work centers on scaling women-led ventures through brand communications rooted in humanity and strategy. My approach draws from IDEO’s human-centered design, Mighty Ally’s social impact brand strategy, and Black Fox Global’s fundraising methodology.

Currently, I serve as lead communications consultant and strategic advisor at Black Fox Global, a woman-owned B Corp helping global NGOs attract significant, sustainable funding. I’m also senior advisor at the Garrison Institute, where we explore the intersection of inner well-being and social change. Previously, I was part of the founding team at DoneGood—named by Forbes as “the Amazon for social good”—and helped scale the venture-backed online education startup Craftsy, which sold to NBCUniversal.

I have an MBA from Northeastern University and a B.S. in Natural Resources from Colorado State University. A devoted yoga student for over 20 years, I completed a 200-hour teacher training in India and have been teaching since 2017. I currently live with my family in the Pacific Northwest on Whidbey Island.
